Welcome
Welcome to Buddha’s Prescription Holistic Care. Thank you so much for visiting our website. At Buddha’s Prescription, our mission is to empower individuals to optimize their health by combining the best of Eastern and Western Medicine. My name is Ankit Sharma, and I founded Buddha’s Prescription to provide a true healing experience for my patients. I am a Board-certified family physician with more than ten years of medical experience. I am also a Fellow at the University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. Besides this, I am a certified Ear Acupuncturist and serve on the Board of Directors at the prestigious Auriculotherapy Certification Institute (ACI), headed by the world-renowned Auriculotherapist Dr. Terry Oleson. I believe that both Western and Eastern schools of Medicine are great, and there’s no need to choose one. I use the wisdom of Integrative Medicine to create a Holistic treatment plan for all my patients.
What is Holistic
Medicine
Holistic medicine views a person as a harmonious blend of Mind, Body, and Spirit, giving equal importance to all these aspects in the pursuit of optimal health. Unfortunately, Western medicine prioritizes Physical Health at the expense of Mental and Spiritual Health. As a result, for most patients, true healing remains elusive. The body has enormous healing potential if the mind, body, and spirit are in sync. As a healthcare provider, I aim to restore this balance and unlock the body’s innate healing ability. Some may perceive Holistic Medicine as excluding conventional or Western medicine. However, any treatment modality that can alleviate suffering and balance the mind, body, and spirit is Holistic.
What is Integrative
Medicine
Integrative Medicine (IM) is a bridge between Conventional and Alternative Medicine. It uses research and evidence to guide patients on the most beneficial and least toxic treatment plan. When it comes to healing, no one size fits all. Integrative Medicine provides patients with different treatment options (both Conventional and Alternative) backed by science and evidence. Then, it leaves it to the Patient to pick a treatment plan that resonates well with their belief system.
